Saturday morning here...i'm heading down to the dealers soon to sign the papers on my new 2016 Rocket!..Its arriving next week still in its box. I have taken a lot of stuff off the current bike which will go onto the new one. I have a power commander here at home so that will go on when I have run her in.
My reason for doing this is my current bike is still a very saleable item with 17500 kms on it and it gives me the chance to slide into a brand new baby for only a few k...Will post photos in a few weeks.

Congrats on your decision.

Enjoy the waiting time, it is a nice and special time.

What color did you choose ?

Ordered any specials, that you don't have on your current ?

Thanx Kim and Irish ....Yeah it tis a bit exciting...actually I'm fair fizzin!...its the same colour, gloss black with the red stripes....could have got a matt black with white stripes but I like that gloss and red better.
Have ordered the flyscreen and fork brackets to mount it with, new led headlights, new led blinkers and new Kuryakn anti vibration black grips and the weighted end caps. Will fit the open throat mufflers which I kept, the crossover decat, the radiator grill cover and download the tune into the power commander. Tune ecu will follow allowing the top end to go out to 250 clicks and the revs to limit out to 7150.
Phew!...I just love it!....Some say I'm mad!

Oh I connected with her alright....like I did with my Storm...its all about get ing a Brand new one....I bought the current r3 from a guy who had put 9000kms on her so its just a thrill seek getting a "NEW" one straight out of the box of straw!
And as the current one is still low in kms, it will still return me a decent price making the new one less painful.
I am soooo looking forward to putting everything on it and transforming her.....
AM I A JUNKIE???

There's something about the "early bird" that gets you right there...you know what I'm sayin? Or maybe not

And a new bike is exciting! I still remember our first ride (Thunderbird n I :) in October of 2009.

I get attached to all my vehicles sometimes i don't realize until i'm walking away from it after the last ride. I certainly felt a feeling of sorrow after I walked away from my Storm. I know I will too when I leave the Rocket. So yeah Rich, I get what you're sayin cobber. I think its cos they have been a great maintenance free machine for me and provided heaps of "YEAH" moments...no...not moments but hours! AND got me home safe
The "NEW" bike feeling is tingling away inside. The anticipation will lead to quiet exhilaration i'm sure. I have shit arriving in the post which I have been busy acquiring to dress her up....the flood of mail is due to start any day now! Mum's gonna freak!

Santa has to make a two time delivery this year, at Tal's place.

We all know where to find you this Christmas Tal, not in the living room, but in the workshop.

Enjoy Tal.

Got the bits on the r3...screen, bars, grips big bore mufflers.stripped the air system an installed pods, installed power commander and loaded tune...left her running till the fan started an counted down 12 mins and shut her down...tidied everything up and took her for a 80km gentle ride. Got to my cobbers and found an oil leak at the back of the motor somewhere...not much but its still wet...the dealers going to check her out in the next few days...bummer. Still, it is what it is...we will sort it. The bike travels really nice...quiet shifts, good response.
